Kalama Valley Water System Improvements
Honolulu Board of Water Supply
The waterline in East Oahu’s populous Kalama Valley neighborhood was nearing its end of life and required replacement. Orion provided design services for the replacement of approximately 10,000 linear feet of waterline of varying pipe diameters and developed a plan for an effective and efficient replacement strategy that resulted in minimal disruptions to residents.
Orion treats neighborhood residents with the same consideration as commercial clients. With careful attention to communication and planning, the designed replacement project plan minimized disruptions to homeowners during the project. Construction schedules and street closures were planned around commuter and parking needs. New locations for hydrants were evaluated and locations selected to minimize impacts of neighborhood street side parking.
